Advisories

  • Please be advised that 1/2" oversize bolts are available if you need a little better fit for your wing bolts. The part number is AN 178-20A.
  • Please be advised that a great deal of information is being exchanged at our Yahoo discussion group site  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cx4  and over 1000 photos of various stages of construction submitted by builder can be seen at www.cx4.ca/coppermine/index.php
  • An improved method of making the fuselage can be seen in the files section of the Yahoo group under "Dave's Alternate fuselage const"
  • An optional 3 gal aux tank installation is now available.
  • A rubber boot for the stick is now available for $10.00 plus shipping
  • A set of nylon bearings for the rudder and aileron controls is now available for $21.00 plus shipping.
  • June 1,2006  Preformed ribs and bulkheads are now available for $1440.00
  • Dec21, 2006 Please be advised that the price for the fully assembled spar and center section is now $1400.00.
  • Jan 3,2007 A portable Bending Break is available for rent from Home Depot here in Pensacola. it makes bending the aileron, elevator, rudder and wing tip trailing edges real easy and fast. It rents for about $40 per day, and you can bend everything in about 5 hours. The device sits right up on your construction table, and can be carried in a van easily. The part number for the device is 1012600340. Photos of the break are on the yahoo group site.
  • Mar 9,2007  Be advised that the dimensions for the seat ribs on sheet 5 are not the same as those on the full size drawing on sheet 9. Sheet 9 is the correct size for the ribs.
  • Mar 9,2007   Please change the size of the rivet on the canopy latch from 3/32" to 1/8", and do not countersink the rivet. The rivet should be an AN470-4 rivet.
  • Mar 22, 2007 the 8" rod going from the brake arm on the rudder pedal to the brake master cylinder should be increased to 8 1/4" Reference sheet 5. The rudder pedal and brake arm can be brazed to the 5/8" tube instead of welding, if you wish.
  • Mar 29, 2007 in order for the elevator to reach 22 degrees up travel the stabilizer should be set to 2 3/4" from F12 bulkhead not 2 3/8" as currently shown on sheet 4. This problem is due to the elevator horn not being welded the same on all planes.
  • Corrections to Sheet 3: The lower rudder rib should be 27" not 30". The rudder spar flange should face aft. The end view of the rudder spar drawing ( lower end) shows it facing forward, which is a mistake on the drawing.
  • Aug 10,2007  An improved sheet 4, with changes to the stabilizer tip rib and middle rib is now being sent out to all plans holders.
  • April 30, 2008  The  pivot bolt on the stick should have a 1/4" x .028 (.194 ID) steel bushing installed in the 5/8" tube.
  • Aug 9, 2008 A secondary fuel pump is required in series with the main fuel pump and wired directly to the master switch by way of a switch on the instrument panel. The pump should be the same model as the main pump. This is a MANDATORY SERVICE CHANGE.
  • A newly designed rudder pedal that is floor mounted is available for those who want it. Ask for new sheet 5. The prefabricated pedals are $200. Photos can be seen on the yahoo group site.
